numbered list problem

A

A

I have Word 2007.

In creating numbered lists, I click the Numbering icon on the menu. Numbers
1 through 9 automatically puts maybe two spaces between the number and the
start of the text I type.

When it reaches 10 and beyond, the space between the number and the text has
more than tripled for some reason. In other words, like this:

9. Sentence starts here.
10. Sentence starts here.

What's going on and how do I fix it?

Thanks,
John

A,
That is odd, not so in my version here. In Word 2007 there is no longer a
tabstop attached to the indent. The text should be aligned the same way in
all 10 paragraphs. Unless you have set the font size to something like 18pt.
Have a look in the ruler, and see if there is something wrong in the last
paragraph. It there is nothing there, you could go to the listarrow next to
the numbering button, click define new numbering at the bottom, and choose
the listarrow next to align and click on right and OK.
