Office 2000 and Word problem

I have Windows Me and Office 2000 which has been running fine for a
long time. Last week the Word refused to load and froze the machine
everytime I try it. I have "repaired" the Office and have uninstalled
and reinstalled it as well. No change.

Excel, powerpoint etc. all work.

Any ideas please? If I have to remove office2000 completely, is there
a utility thst will let me do that?
