I am having to install Office 2000 Service Pack 3 (SP3)
onto a laptop for a user in my office. I have a problem
towards the end of the install being that once the laptop
has restarted, to complete the install, i get the error
message, which reads something like:
"Office SP3 was installed but with some discrepancies.
Please contact your local technical customer service
representative"
If I then check in word, excel etc is shows its still
using SP1. So the update hasnt worked properly. Things I
have tried so far are:
Trying to install again (with minimal services running)
Repairing Office 2000 and running install again
Uninstalling Office 2000, reinstalling then running SP3
again.
AND the obvious things like defrag, scandisk, cleanup etc.
This has happened on a few machines.
All machines are running Windows 2000 (customized for the
company) and all machines already have the needed SP1
installed already.
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers
