I have purchase a new PC from Dell and they included
Office 2003 Basic Edition. Basic edition does not include
Powerpoint. I alreay own a copy of office 2000 and want
to know if it is OK to just install powerpoint 2000 on the
new system. Will there be any confilcts with the newer
version of office?

Did Dell include the CD's for Office 2003 Basic? If so, then uninstall it,
install PowerPoint 2000, and then re-install Office 2003. If you don't have
the CD's then we wouldn't recommend that you install PowerPoint 2000 on top
of it because there is a chance that some files will be overwritten, causing
problems in Office 2003.
