Office 2003 patches

S

Sergio Biguzzi

At work (win2000) but not at home (WINXPPro) I cannot have
MS Office page determine the patches that I surely need
for my Office 2003 Beta.
At the end of the inspection I get the message {The Office
Update Catalog cannot be displayed} over and over.

Is it only me or there is a bug?

Thank you

Do you have admin privileges on your machine at work? Does your company
block downloads from Microsoft as they use a SUS server?

I considered that. I tried to log-on Windows 2000 as to my
local PC (where I have full administrative priviledges)
and to my network at work where I do not have full
priviledges). In both cases I was unsuccessful.

I look on the knowledge base and a search for the
message "The Office Update Catalog cannot be displayed"
brought up a document referring to Office 9.0 where the
entry "path" in the Micrrosoft\Office\Common was the
culprit. The "Path" was there for Office 11 so that this
seems not to be the case.

I do not believe the priviledges are the culprit since I
can routinely have the Windows 2000 WEB site inspect my PC
and easily upload patches to the Win2000.

Than you

Oh; you meant the Technical Refresh. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
