Office 2003

Markie

Just had a major problem with Office Word in Office 2003.

I'd been using it happily for ages (well except for the abnormal
program terminations that happen every other day when closing the
program - oh and sometimes when you try to restore it from the taskbar
it just disappears competely).

I was running low on disk space, so I decided I'd uninstall Word 2002
(Which I had left on despite installing Office 2003 - I thought this
might cause trouble ;) ).

If you do uninstall Word 2002 , it seems Office Word 2003 can no
longer import Windows Bitmaps! It always asks you what the image is,
instead of just importing it - and when you tell it it's a Windows
Bitmap it complains it can't read it.

I've had to re-install Word 2002 just to get Bitmap importing in
Office Word 2003 working again, but a 300MB bitmap import routine is a
little heavy on my hard drive at the moment!!

So if anybody else is thinking of uninstalling an early version of
Word they've left on - after installing Office 2003 - it mighn't be
such a good idea.

But my QUESTION is: Does anybody know how to un-install Word 2002 and
retain the Windows Bitmap import?

Cheers!

I'm thinking uninstalling 2002 again, then reinstalling 2003 might well fix
your problem.

I cannot answer your question. But perhaps you can answer mine. I bought
Office Word 2003 on a CD, but it won't install. Did you download yours from
a CD. If you did, how is it to be done?

Thanks
