If I purchase a copy of Office 2004, can I install it on both my desktop and laptop and then sync the information between the two? Do I need a multi licence version to work on both machines at the same time?

Check the license carefully. I believe it allows you to install on one desk
top AND one laptop, but you can not run them both at the same time. What
kind of information do you want to synch? You can do this with Entourage by
copying the database from one machine to the other. Since the receiving
machine can not have Entourage open at this time, you are not violating the
license.

If I try to open the data base on my desktop it says that this identiy can access this version of Entourage. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Make sure that your copy of Office is up to date on both machines. Download
and install the latest Office 2004 updates, which are the Office 2004
11.3.5, 11.3.6, 11.3.7, 11.3.8, 11.3.9, 11.4.0, & 11.4.1 updates.

In Office 2004, use Microsoft AutoUpdate to get the latest updates. From
any Office application, go to Help > Check for Updates (or manually launch
Microsoft AutoUpdate from the Applications folder). If any updates are
needed, they will display in a sheet, at which point you can check them and
press the "Install" button to download and install them.

Updates can also be found at the Microsoft web site:
