I'm having the same issue. I've installed office 97 service pack 2 and the
Microsoft Jet Database Engine 3.5. Still get the error.

Suggestions appreciated.

woodchuck7715 or vema..

I am also fighting the same issue.
window with the following when I try to open mdb or mde with Access
runtime.

Microsoft Access (header)
"a system error occured, or there isn't
enough free memory to start ms access. close unneeded programs and try
again"

Then the app shuts down.

However, My problem only is in running the runtime version of Access
97. My CPU also at 1 gig ram. If I right click and open the file using
Full version (not runtime) Access runs no problem. This is odd because
this is the same CPU that created the Runtime package, using ODE (office
developers edition). I can give the packaged files to other users and
their system runs fine. Some who have used my package even have Access
2002 or no Access software at all (1Gig ram or not) and they still have
success! If I can not test the package I just made, how will i debug?
Also I want to ensure others will not have this issue on their CPU. I
did try the jet update with no luck. Even used
RUN...regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft
Shared\Dao\Dao360.dll"

What is causing this problem? Anyone? Please help! Thanks.
