Office shortcut Bar

I am unable to get the office 2003 shortcut bar to appear
on the desk top.

Any ideas?

It is not available - it was removed from Office 2003. You can install an
earlier version but I find that Office XP has the fewest issues.

As an alternative, you can use the Quick Launch bar. Please take a look at
article 830180 Frequently Asked Questions About the Office Shortcut Bar and
Office 2003 (http://support.microsoft.com/?id=830180). It explains that the
Office Shortcut Bar is not included in Office 2003, and provides a couple of
alternatives.
