office task

When I try to enter a task in the preview bar under Contacts, I can put the
cursor bar there, but when I try to type in a name, all I get is chime no
matter what key I hit. It will not let me type anything in, but everything
else in Microsoft office works fine. HELP?

You may not edit previews, open the item to perform editing.

Hi Bob, I'm not trying to edit previews, I'm just trying to enter the contact
items. If I double click on the blank line the task window pops up, but then
I enter a name and hit enter it comes up as a gray line reading contacts (1
item), then when you click on the 1 item, the window opens up. It used to
just list them line by line as I entered them, I don't know why it decided to
go crazy. Thanks for your help

I'm not really following the "steps" you are describing, but it sounds
like you may a have set "filters" to be "ON" in the Tasks. turn them off
in View, Arraing by, Current View, Customize View, Filters
