Office XP Professional

All of a sudden I cannot open any Excel or Word files. Excel says 'unable to
read file' and Word says '...doc is unavailable'. The latest Office updates
have been installed prior to this happening. I can open these files on other
computers without a problem. I tried repairing and reinstalling Office, which
didn't help.

Any suggestions?

Disable the Office Plugin that comes with Symantec/Norton AntiVirus. See
