I'm trying to add office XP sp3 to Ohotfix on my company's
admin install point for Office XP. sp3 is a pre-req for
sept patches, so this is my driving force.
I've extracted the MSP file and added it to the directly,
but when I try to run, I get :SP3 cannot be applied".
Looked in my error log. Says MsiInstaller event ID
1015 "failed to connect to server 0x8001401F0"
Any ideas? I have windows installed 2.0 and Office XP sp2
on the system currently. When I try to run just the msp
file alone, I get and error telling me that the program to
be upgaded may be missing. However, if I do a check
updates from the web, it finds that I do need sp3 and can
install. That method is unattractive for a corprate wide
install. I would like to be able to push the ohotfix
install from SMS like I've done with Office 2003 sp1
without problem.
