I have an old set of folders from an IMAP account I no longer have access
to. It existed as part of my profile when I had outlook XP. I've since
upgraded to outlook 2003, but the folder is still present. If I click on
the folder or right click and select 'outlook datafile', I get the message
"the set of folders could not be opened. If I right click the folder and
select 'close', I get the message "The messaging interface has returned an
unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook". I looked for a
PST and found one with a related name, so I deleted it and restarted
Outlook. This had no effect.
When I look at the summary of existing accounts, there is a dropdown box
where you indicate you'd like each account's mail to go. This folder exists
here too.
If I go to the Mail Control Panel after closing Outlook and select the 'Data
Files...' button, the folder does not show.
Any ideas how to get rid of this folder?
