Onenote 2007 and Documents

Right now I have a directory of Letters, Billing, Documents, CAd Files etc.

I either need a smart onenote that does not double my work or a smarter file
exploer.

Onenote is nice in that it sees everythign but it sure takes a long time to
get all that date into onenote and then it is just a ocpy liek a paper
notebook and not an active file that stays up to date. Maybe that is good as
I get a picture at that time. But it does not keep up with this data
automatically.
And it does not keep up with all my files automatically.

Am I missing something. I want to use onenote to organize each job I have.
It seems like we have internet ecplorer, Outlook, BCM and Onenote, each doing
something the other can;t and none doing anything completely.

Use each one for what it is best for. We keep pictures of outstanding
invoices, letters, etc. in OneNote because it is easier than sorting through
a bunch of file names in My Documents. On files we are currently working on,
like spreadheets and reports, we drag just a link from My Documents into
OneNote where we can arrange the links into a pattern that helps facilitate
work flow. You can link a contact from Outlook into OneNote, drag file links
that pertain to that client onto their contact page, add pages for pictures
of their invoices, letters, etc. Send copies of their email correspondence
to their section.

Sounds fine but without the ability to view the icons are not always very
good to work with or quick.

I use long file name so I know which ones to view but if I go to my
directory I can do the same without taking time to go to that directory. As
dozens of files get added I don't have to take time to go back to that
directory. And if I stay in CP I can view many without opening htem (pdf's)
for example. And I can quickly sort by date orsome other function to also
go through them. I don't want t odouble my work I think what I am looking
for is a much more mature one noe with can actually display the files not
just a liink and make it a live section that looks at a directory so I can
set up a template for any job and have it automatically propogate.
