online vs offline

I'm brand new to Outlook. Basic Questions.

Does info entered into outlook while online automatically enter into
my PC's offline database/ view?

Is there a need to synch online to offline if I've entered the info on
that computer?

Using Exchange server, and connected to the mailbox, online? It's 'live' on
the server. You'll need to sync to your OST file if you want to be able to
see it while disconnected.
