"Open" box doesn't open in Word

I use Office 2000, running Win2000. When I work on the
document and I want to do "save as" or "mail merge" or any
other options for the document, like "Open", the box
doesn't come up, but blinks at the botton task bar. And
only when I click on it at the bottom, it opens up.

Hi Matt,

In Norton AV go to Options and in the Miscellaneous section turn off
"Enable Office Plug-in".
