open outlook yesterday (lost file need to open it before that happened)

somehow, don't ask me how, but I managed to loose a file
I'd been saving messages in outlook express (v6) I use
office 2000 professional - windows 2000.

I tried looking in history, but thats only web pages. I
tried searching for outlook express one day ago. But it
only shows the current file. How do I open outlook
express from a previous day when the file still existed?
I did it once, when I needed to recover my address book,
but I cannot remember how. These files mean my job!

Am a bit confused, but anyway...if I were you I'd do a
search for *.dbx files. These are the file extensions for
Outlook Express email folders. This should list all the
files and dates last viewed. Hopefully you will see some
from the dates that you're talking about. You'll have to
then point outlook express to that store location of the
files and re-open it, hopefully that will show you the
lost files...
