When I open any size Word or Excell file and make any
changes, then save and X out to close, it takes anywhere
from 15 to 25 seconds to complete. Sometimes it
even "stops responding" and I have to "alt,ctrl, delete"
to close it out. My resorce level is around 80 to 90, 256
mb ram, 8gb hard drive with half of it unused. I have
uninstalled Office Pro.97 and reinstalled it to no avail.
My computer has NOT ALWAYS done this. Only for the last
few months. I have not made any major changes on it. I
have checked for virus, scandisk C drive, and defragged
it. I cannot use my restore disc, because my cd rom will
not read it. (This problem just started about the same
time). The cd rom will read other cd's just not the "Quick
REstore" MY computer is a Compaq 5150. I have been told I
have a Windows problem. How can I tell. any advice will be
