opening file

I am trying to open a file in Office 2000 and it is a
file from the version we have at school--Im not sure
which one. It comes with the message that it cant open
files from other versions but is there a way to go around
this? I NEED this file!

When you say Office 2000, are you referring to Publisher 2000.

Or are you trying to open a Publisher file in Word 2000?

Publisher will only open files from the same or earlier versions.

If you have been sent a Publisher 2002 file, and you have Publisher 2000,
ask the person who sent you the file to do a SAVE AS in Publisher 2002 as
Publisher 2000 and send that file to you.

The Publisher 2002 file when saved as Publisher 2000 will not retain the
Publisher 2002 features.
