Opening files

Is there a faster path when opening files in msoffice
(especially Word)? After I launch from the Word shortcut,
if I want to open a file, I have to go from My Documents
back up to Desktop, to My Computer, to Local Disk (C:), to
msoffice, to the list of Office programs. Only then can I
get to my subdirectories & my working files.

I seem to recall that there should be a way to create a
path so when I launch, for instance, Word, I go directly to
the msoffice directory where my files are stored.

I appreciate any help!
