opening outlook causes video setting to reset to 8 bit resolution

every time I open outlook 2003 my video resolution resets to the value of 8
bits. I reset it but it comes back every time I open outlook. does not happen
when using Int. explorer. I have a new system and was not a problem until
today. I did a repair using my original Office disk and it did not help. I
reinstalled my video drivers and did not help.
