Out of Office Reply in Outlook, NO exchange server, problems

Carla Alvear

I have no exchange server and found on the MS Office website the procedure
for how to use Out of Office reply in Outlook 2003, but it's still not
working, anyone have any advice. I followed the procedure for setting this
up setp by step.

Has anyone else thought they solved their problem then no dice?

Let me know!

Thanks,
Busy, but curious!!!

In order for Out Of Office Replies to work, Outlook must be
running. It is a Client Level Rule. So, have you been leaving
Outlook running and testing from another email client, such as
Hotmail? What happens?

Out of Office without an Exchange server is really a bad idea - it will
confirm your email address as good to every spammer out there. Plus, you
get into mail loops.

Thanks for your response. YES, I have left Outlook running on the PC and
then sent an email from my PC, no luck. No message. Then when I go to the
PC it says there is an error with the rule?

I need to check this again ... I will try and let you know. THANK you for
your quick response.
Carla
