OUTLOOK 2000 receives but won't send messages

I have outlook 2000 and I can receive email but none will
send. They just stay in my outbox no matter what I do.
Outlook is configured just like my outlook express is and
the express works. POP and smtp are the same as outlook
express. I would appreciate any help that you could give.
I'm running XP for my operating system. thanks...

No I don't have any error messages. That's what's bugging
me about it. It receives just fine but it will not send
from the outbox. Is it a patch problem with 2000?
