Outlook 2000 (SR1) Store PST on the Server

Hi,

I wish to configure Outlook to "see" the Outlook.pst file
and a server so it can be backed up. How can this be
done. Thanks in advance.

Put the file on the server and just open the pst-file with Outlook. This
will create a link to the file in your profile. Please note that opening
pst-files from networkshares is not recommended by Microsoft (although it
works problem free in lots of configurations) as it could lead to
corruptions when the connenction to it gets lost unexpected.

Exit Outlook. Move the .pst file to a server folder. Restart Outlook. When it asks, tell Outlook where the PST file is.

Another idea is to leave the PST on your hard drive, then use the PST Backup Utility add-in to periodically save a copy to the server. This is especially good for travelling laptop users - they have their Personal Folders available offline, but it still gets backed up.

The PST Backup utility works on Office 2000, 2002, and 2003. More info: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...3A-B7D0-4B16-B8AF-5A6322F4FD01&displaylang=en
