Outlook 2000 - Unable to delete messages

Can someone please help?
I am running Outlook 2000 using Corporate\Workgroup. When
I highlight several emails and hit the delete button on
the toolbar, nothing happens. When I hit again then it
deletes. Does anyone know what that problem is?
