Outlook 2000 will not shutdown-need to End Task everytime

I don't know when this started or why. I can open and use
MS Outlook 2000 fine but when I attempt to exit....it sits
there with the Outlook logo. When I open the Task Manager
screen, it is Not Responding and I have to always End
Task. Anyone know how to fix this?

There is a list of common items that can keep Outlook active in the
background, but most of this list applies to Outlook 2003.

1. WinFax Pro
2. ActiveSync with PDA docked
3. Franklin-Covey Plan Plus!
4. Anti-virus software set to scan incoming/outgoing mail.
5. Word as the editor in unpatched versions of Office
6. COM Add-ins that plug into Outlook.
7. Mail checking third party programs that run in the notification area.

If you have any of these, try disabling it and see if the problem goes away.

account will be deleted without reading.

Not sure if this will help, but I had a similar problem
after I started working on machines that were Outlook
2003, then going back to 2000 on a different machine (same
exchange 5.5 mailbox)

I ran each of these from the command prompt. In this
order. If one didn't work, I "end task", make sure
OUTLOOK and MAPISP32 are no longer running, and go to the
next

Outlook /CleanReminders
Outlook /CleanFreeBusy
Outlook /CleanFinders
