Anyone know how to set up a rule that would scan the
subject line of incoming mails for a combination of
letters and numbers, identify it as spam, and delete it?

Most of the spam I get has at least one group of number-
letters within the subject. That would be the easiest way
to identify them.

You'd have to be able to specify the letters and numbers and since they are
usually somewhat random I don't think you can find a reliable way to do
that. Outlook 2003 has a pretty good spam filter built-in, you might
consider that.
