Outlook 2003 -email account won't delete

In my Outlook 2003 I have an email account that show up in the mail folders
area. When I try to delete it I get a message that I need to delete the
email account. When I go to the email account management wizard to remove
the account it is not there. I have gone to the data files area and tried
to delete the data files but get a message that I must remover the email
account. Any ideas on how to remove this "hidden" email account?
