Still having a problem. I've copied my address book from Outlook 2003 to a
CD. I've copied the CD to my hard drive on my laptop(although when it asks me
to import the file and I choose My Documents it doesn't show up). That
removes it as a 'read only' file or a Wab file which Outlook will not accept.
Now I want to copy that file to my laptop in Outlook 2003. When I try to
import it, it denies me access, or it tells me the process of
importing/exporting is terminated due to an error. (Mapi error).
I'll give you the steps as I've taken them:
Open File-Import and Export Wizard/choose an action to perform(6 choices:1
export the file, 5 import to)/select file type to import from/file to import
(Browse). Now here is where the problem starts. If I go to My Documents the
file doesn't show up, if I go to My Computer and open the local disk the file
shows up as 'Personal Address Book' (which is the name I chose to save it
under) then asks me which program would I like to open it with. I've tried
Word but it ends up being encrypted and it gets worse from there. HELP...this
