Outlook 2007 has a problem and needs to close.

I started getting an error message a couple days ago whenever I launch
Outlook 2007. I have been using this version for the past 4-6 months and
really like it. But I can't understand why all of a sudden it crashes when I
try to open it. Let me clarify: It will open but within seconds this message
comes up and then it closes:

"Microsoft Outlook has encountered a problem and needs to close."

Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks

It can happen because of many reasons.
1st find is its because of data or a fault with program.

to find if program is working fine.
click start > IN run winodw type "outlook /safe /profiles"
Click new , create a profile.
cancel email account setup wizard and open with new profile, in outlook
startup "continue with no email support". Try Outlook.
If its working then the problem was because of your data.

I clicked on Start, Run, then typed in "outlook/safe/profiles". But I only see my options as "OK, Cancel, of Browse". I don't see "New". Please clarify. Thanks again.

You must have "new" option when you type "outlook /safe /profiles"
below which you will have ok, cancel, options buttons.

If you don’t get this window, then other way to create a new profile is
from control panel.
Open mail, click "show profiles" , then add a new profile. cancel email
account setup wizard.
