Outlook 2007 Pane Sorting

I have done my best searching Microsoft's support for this and have
found nothing regarding this issue, so I'm hoping this can help. I am
using Outlook 2007 on a Windows XP machine and all updates are
current. My Reading Pane is set to "Bottom" and all emails are sorted
by "Received" from top to bottom so that the most recent is at the
bottom of the pane. Normally, when I click on a folder to view its
contents, the oldest email is at the bottom of the pane and is
highlighted. However, occasionally when I click on a folder, the
highlighted email is the oldest in that folder and the slider bar is
at the top of the pane. I have not found any consistency in this; it
happens to any of the folders and at any time. While this is not a
critical issue, it occurs frequently enough that it is annoying. Is
anyone else experiencing this? Thanks for your help!
