Outlook 2007 Will Not Work After Installing Update

I recently installed the latest updates to my computer and now Outlook does
not work. I have tried going back to the restore point, uninstalling the
updates and using the Inbox repair tool but with no luck. Any suggestions on
now to get Outlook to open?

Define "does not work" and include any error messages that come up. Have you
looked in the Task Manager > Processes to determine if outlook.exe is
running or not?

This is the message I receive:

Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The
set of folder cannot be opened. Errors have been detected in the file
C:\Documents and Settings\.....\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.pst.

The update was 2007 Microsoft Office Suite Service Pack 1

Outlook will attempt to open but when thr toolbar appears, it closes and
goes back to my desktop.

I have Vista OS
