Outlook Alternatives

Greg

Since I cannot get outlook to send large file without sending them many
times, see previoius posts, I'm wondering what other alternatives there are
to Outlook and am seeking recommendations.

Thanks

Depends on what you need the application to do. If it's just to send mail,
POP/SMTP clients abound on the Internet, many of them free, download one
that suits you and use it. However, the most common causes of your symptom
is an antivirus scanner processing your outgoing messages (never needed), a
send/receive interval that's too short, and/or a server timeut that's too
short.

Brian, et al,

I have followed all suggestions to resolve this problem. The antivirus
scanner does not process outgoing messages.

No one has told me how I can adjust the send / receive interval in Outlook
2003 SP2.
Or how to adjust the server timeout.

If you have any positive information to impart; please educate me.

That information isn't that hard to find and how to find it has been posted
numerous times. Google Groups is yor friend. Press ALT-CTRL-S (or click
Tools>Optons>Mail Setup>Send/Receive or Tools>Send/Receive>Send/Receive
Settings>Define Send/receive Groups) for the Send/Receive Groups dialogue
box where you can adjust the send/receive interval. It should be no less
than ten minutes. Click Tools>E-mail Accounts>Next, select your account,
click Change, then More Settings, then the Advanced tab to find the server
timeout. I have mine set to three minutes, but you may find a larger value
more helpful.

There is no server timeout on the advanced tab on my version of OL 2003 SP2.

The send / receive interval was set at 15 minutes (I think from a previous
suggestion.)
