Outlook & attachments

G

Geddy

I recently started getting messages in Outlook & OE
indicating it has blocked access to th attachment due to
the possibility of harmful file types. I mean come on,
this is a Word document attachment! I have NO idea as to
why this just started happening all of the sudden.
I can see that there is an attachment and I can see the
file name, however, the file is grayed out and not
available for viewing.

HELP!!!!

TIA

....and if you uncheck that box in Outlook Express, make sure you have a good
antivirus program running.

FWIW, Word documents are perfectly capable of transmitting viruses.

Geddy,
1. Try and live with with it for a while (Its very safe).
2. Download Winzip or WinRar or an equivalent.
3. Educate your contacts to ALWAYS email attachments as
Zip Files - You should do the same.

Ultimately you will all save - because you are protecting yourselves.
- because your emails will be
smaller.

Hope this Helps,
