outlook backup

tomislav

hi, this is my question

everyday after my work i am locking my workstation. leaving outlook 2003,
browser, etc. open. late at night i have scheduled daily backup of my
profile under Documents&settings with built in Backup software(Win XP pro
default software).

I was reading some articles and i am wondering is my backup still valid
exp. for Outlook 2003 if application is open and at same time Backup
software is creating backup of my .PST file

cheers
tomislav

Hi Tomislav,

Thanks for your posting here.

Based on my knowledge, the NTBackup supports online backup, and your
configuration will work. I have performed the test on my side. And it works
as expected. You are able to backup the PST file while Outlook is still
running at the same time.

In addition, according to your situation, I suggest you use the Automatic
Backup Tool for Outlook to backup the PST file. You can get the file from
the folloing link:
You can download the tool at:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=8b081f3a-b7d0-4b16-
b8af-5a6322f4fd01&DisplayLang=en

Hope this helps. If you need further help, just post back to let me know

Thanks & Regards
