Hi, why is it that when I try to send some attachments like PDF etc. that
they are sent many times over and over. The file may only be the size of an
A4 sheet.

Stop your anti-virus software from scanning e-mail. It's a waste of
resources, accomplishes nothing beneficial, and messes up the e-mail
software.

Because Internet email cannot transmit binary information. Your email client
encodes the binary into ASCII tes. Since the ASCII code set if only half the
size of the binary code set, it takes many more characters to encode the data
than the original unencode data takes.
