Outlook Folders locations

Larry McNeill

I want to copy my entire outlook to a CDRW and then
reinstall it on my new PC once built. Where are the
folders located. I remember in old outlooks you had pab
and other folders you could copy. I just to copy the
complete set of data folders.

Rightclick on the root folders (this is just Outlook
Today when you've only got one pst-file) choose
properties-> button Advanced-> field Filename. You can
copy it when Outlook is closed. When you restore it you
must copy the file back to your harddisk and uncheck
the "Read Only" file property. You cannot connect Outlook
to a pst-file that is on a CD. If you store all your
contacts in the Contacts folder of Outlook there is no
need to search for a pab-file. This file has become
obsolete since Outlook 2000.

Happy building!
