Outlook Insists on Entering Email Account Password

While setting up the POP3 email account I have chosen to save the password
for the email account, so that I don't have to enter it every time I fire up
the Outlook. However, Outlook keeps asking for the password, every time I
fire it up, even if select the checkmark on the password dialogue box to
save the password.

What am I missing?

Check the setting that tells Outlook to auto-detect or
manually set how it connects to the internet.

On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
Select View or change existing e-mail accounts, and then
click Next.
Select the account, and then click Change.
Click More Settings, and then click the Connection tab.

Try that. Depending on how you connect, this may have an
effect on that password setting.
