Outlook is possessed

It opens up a new window by itself, every 10 minutes or
so, even when already open. This has been going on for
about 6 months. I think there is a register corruption,
but don't know how to fix it. This is driving me mad. It
acts like a pop-up.

What version of Outlook? If 2002 or 2003, do you have
speech enabled? If yes, try turning off the microphone
and see if this still happens.

I've got Outlook in MS Office 2000..Dell Support

suggested that I do a system restore (I'm on Windows XP);
but I've already done that...Thought I'd try again anyway
and now I can't get my System Restore to go back past this
month. If it's a virus why would it just be in Outlook
and nothing else and only be doing this one thing??
Anyway, how can I check if that is the problem or not??

It's in Office 2000. And, no, no mic is hooked up.
