Outlook office files (*.pst) on mini harddisk, used on several PC'

I am switching from Eudora to Outlook office. I want the same function in Outlook that I had in Eudora: I kept my mail files on a small, portable mini harddisk (40GB), always in my pocket. Then I can always use up-to-date mail folders, no matter where I am, as I long as I have my mini harddisk with me.
How do I do that? I have learnt to set up personal folders on the mini harddisk, but how do I automatically redeirect all mail messages, contact list etc to these folders once they are downloaded from the server?
