Outlook pst folder takes a long time to open

Suddenly I am having a problem with Outlook. It takes a
long time for my outlook folder to open.

At this time the file size is about 300MG - any thoughts ?

Outlook 2002, O/S - Windows 2K - latest SR, Opening
outlook itself is slow, but opening the inbox slower.
