Outlook using next SMTP when first is unavailable changing the fro

Outlook is configured to use one Exchange account and several other IMAP/POP
accounts. Each of these accounts has its own SMTP server and a different From:
address. Now, whensending an e-mail via the Exchange account, the e-mail is
in the Outbox, and it frequentlyhappens that if the connection to Exchange is
weak or not available (e.g. after comingonline again after having worked
offline), that the Outlook decides to send the e-mailunder question not
through Exchange, but through the next SMTP server in the list (i.e.the SMTP
server form an IMAP account then). Also then automatically the "From:"
fieldof the e-mail is changed, so that replies to this e-mail go to the wrong
account.

This behaviour is undesired. How can Outlook be configured that if an e-mail
is sent through a specific account, and this SMTP server is not available,
that the e-mail remains in the Outbox and is sent later (say when the
Exchange connection is again up) rather than being sent through another
account (and having the From: change in this process).

What version and patch level of Outlook? This has been an issue with
Outlook, but only for certain versions and releases.

Well, that's not a version I would expect to have the problem. If your
company has a support contract with Microsoft, it would be worth opening an
incident report.
