Outlook Won't Close

T

Terry Smerling

I am running Outlook 2003 on WinXP Pro and Home. I have run into a
recurring problem. Even though I close Outlook, and it disappears from the
screen; it actually keeps running (and is present in Task Manager
Processes). Later when I try to shut down my machine, I receive a message
that Outlook needs to close and/or that Outlook is not responding. How do I
solve this problem, i.e. how do I effectivley close Outlook and all its
processes?

Hi,

I used to see excatly the same behaviour and whilst I
can't be certain, I believe it was down to an add-in I was
running (in my case Plaxo). Ensure you have all th
eupdates for Outlook installed (Help|Check for Updates)
and ensure you have the latest versions of any add-ins you
have.

I hope this helps.

I have the same problem, and recently ran across some other replies addressing it, which I'm about to seek. If you'll scan problem statements for a couple of weeks back, you'll discover that we're not alone. Good luck!
