When I try to import my Outlook 2000 from my desktop to my
Laptop with XP Office it is bringing in 2 year old
information and not the current. How do I get the curent
into my laptop?

Go to Address Book, File, Import.

If Import is grayed out, post another question here, and if you have better
luck that I have, somebody will give you some real help.

Just copy the .PST file to your laptop, make sure it's not marked read-only,
then use File | Open | Outlook Data File to open it in your Outlook 2002
Folder List.

Sounds like you need to export a new pst or wab file from your old program.
