Paste special

I have a series of chapters which I want to be able to keep separate so that
I can edit them independently. I copy them and then use paste special to put
them into my bigger document. The problem is that it only copies one page of
the chapters. What am I doing wrong? How do I display the entire chapter in
the bigger document? Thanks. Tom

I often change the order of these chapters and it gets rather confusing
selecting one part and moving it around in a very large document. So rather
than have one document to edit and change I have individual chapters that I
can edit and juggle. I guess I could use insert object as well. The point is
what ever method I try I only seem to be able to insert 1 page. The other
pages don't display. How do I insert a whole chapter of multiple pages and
keep it separate so that updates in that chapter will be reflected in the
one document? Thanks for your help. Tom

One solution-----
In the chapters document, press <ctrl> A, then right click and copy
In the document file, click and drag to highlight the old text (chapter)
that you want to replace.
right click and paste.
I dont understand why you are using "paste special"

I am sorry for not making myself clear. If I did it your way and I made a
change to the one of the chapter documents it would not be reflected in the
master document unless I cut and pasted again. With paste special the
objects are linked so that any changes in the original chapter document
will be reflected in the master document as well. this makes things much
simpler to keep up to date in the long run. I just need to get the whole
pasted object to display not just a single page. Thanks for bearing with
me. Tom

Why not just go to the master document and insert file? Assuming that
the styles are the same in both...
