If you are trying to copy/paste from the Microsoft ClipArt and Media site you must
have Windows 2000 or XP. Go to the ClipArt site and click on help.

Hi Mark,

To add to Mary's reply, if you're not using Windows 2000 or Windows XP
you can copy and paste from http://office.microsoft.com/clipart and most
other webpages using the free Imagelist utility located here http://bayden.com/webster/imagelist.asp
(also works on Windows 2000 and Windows XP <g>)

Bob, The ImageList will only paste a .gif, not the clip. I realize some folks are
content with that, but if one wants the full fledge clip they will have to download
it.

Hi Mary,

While there is a downloadable graphic of higher resolution
the Imagelist utility copies and pastes what is presented on the page. In the case of the Office Clipart site that's the GIF
thumbnail, as has been the case in the past as well and it is the graphic that is shown.

What type of website are you trying to copy from? Most art is protected
and they want you to buy it first (hence the "shopping cart"). Tr
right-clicking on the picture, choose "save picture as." You can the
"place" the picture into your document.

Remember, though, most people put low resolution, small pictures o
their website for 2 reasons -- page download time, and theft. What yo
save may not be usable in a printed document

try pasting by typing Control and the letter V at the same time - sometimes when the icons are not usable that keyboard shortcut still works
