Pasting tables in Word 2002

Laura

In Word 2002 when I past a table for which I've changed the width of columns,
or border/shading settings, I often lose my formatting -- the column widths
go back to the original size, and the borders (which I removed) reappear.

I played around with the past options but can't seem to make it stop!

Does anyone know of a setting that will make it keep the original table
formatting?

Thanks!

Hi Laura,
try switching off the smart cut/paste option for tables.
Tools, Options, Edit, Smart cut and paste Settings...
remove tick from Adjust table formatting and alignment on paste.
cheers,
Nadia
