physical %complete

hi,
i am going to use physical %complete in my plan.It is the field that is
to be maually updated.
why isn't the physical % complete column updating the % at the summary
level. On the physical % complete column , one can update the
completion details for the tasks. how are you gettting the summary
level tasks updated.anyone can explain

Basic % Complete relates to duration and there is a weighted sum
calculation used by Project to populate that field at summary level.
Similarly Project uses a formula to calculate % Work Complete at summary
level. However Physical % Complete is basically an independent field
entered by the user. No formula exists for its value at summary level.
