picture border

I'm working on a document in Word 2003 that has a few text boxes and special
pasted visio objects. I'm trying to put a box border around these items.
Some work fine, but others are missing the tops of the border. I thought by
putting a thicker line around them fixed it, but upon re-opening the doc
today, the tops are gone again. I'm assuming the pictures are on top of the
border?? The layout for the objects is currently in line with text, I've
tried selecting some of the other options, but it only makes it worse. Any
suggestions? I appreciate any help.

I finally decided to print one of the pages out and the border IS there even
though it wasn't there in print preview either, thanks for all your help
