When saving a picture in FP2000, the jpeg compression is set to 75 by
default. Because I am always having to change this to 100, is there any way
I can set this as the default value? Is it in one of the ini files? I am
using WinXP Pro

Thanks in advance,

Geoff.

You should be able to change the setting in Tools > Page options > Picture

Doesn't that create some pretty large .jpg files?

Probably not if you optimize them prior to importing them into FP.

I am already compressing them before I import them.

However, I cannot find Pictures under Tools / Page options. Could it be
anywhere else?

If you are optimising the pictures outside of FrontPage, then do not let FP
save them again - the quality will deteriorate. File->Import the images
into a folder in FrontPage from your hard disc, or drag and drop from
Windows Explorer into that folder in FrontPage. FP need never save the
images, hence no need to set the compression value.
